Wind wings

ON my coach the curtains are always being pulled out thru those windows.
that indicates to me that this area is low pressure and that it would take a
pretty big scoop to do any good. I assume that that is where the extra air
brought in by the air conditioner/heater goes out. Putting in scoops might
defeat this flow. Am I right or wrong?????

I would guess you normally wouldn't have windows open when the A/C is
on....my curtains have tie backs so I have never experienced the
condition you described above. I have heard the wind wings are noisy but
I have no personal knowledge of that.

Terry:

The condition (i. e. negative pressure) you describe occurs only when you
have the cockpit slider window(s) open and the windwing(s) swiveled outward,
such that the leading edge of the plexiglass is against the windshield. In
that case, having a screen over the window opening eliminates anything going
out the open window.
On the other hand, if you want to direct air inside the coach, then you have
to swivel the windwing to nearly the opposite extreme and close the slider
up to the edge of the windwing.

I've never experienced any bugs being ushered in via the windwings, nor have
I ever heard of anyone else experiencing such! Have you????

I looked into the wind wings and the bugs coming in the windows did not
attract me, so you need the screens and the ones I saw I did not like.
Soooooo , I took another approach and added fresh air vents to the floor
board. I had seen these at a rally and I put them in. See my web page
for the how-to-do-it with pictures. My metapausal partner loves the
vents and all of the people I know who have put them in like them also.

Paul,
We do get bugs in the windows from our Ragusa windwings. Usually only the
larger, beetle type, bugs make it alive. The small bugs usually get
squashed on the wing. I can't imagine screens though. I would think that
they would make a real racket with the amount of air coming through from
the wind wing. The bugs are not a real problem. We don't get that many
in. It seems that the front of the GMC gets more covered with bugs in
night driving which is when there would less need for the wind wings anyway.
