What's behind the little door just in front of the entry door on a 78 center kitchen Royale? What's under the dinette seat there.

No Coach yet but trending towards mid kitchen Rolaled, 77 or 78, 403, hopefully with good original Imron paint.

Just an storage compartment.

The propane tank is under that dining seat--accessible from that outside door for filling.

If it is a front dining unit, if it is the one with kitchen on passenger
side, it is storage

Thanks, I thought that's what it might be.which brings up the question what's behind the large door at the back where it usually is?

On my rear bath Royale the rear door has a sheet metal barrier behind it that hides the bath tub and plumbing. Yours maybe different.

On our '78 Royale Center Kitchen, the small door on the outside of the coach just in front of the entrance door leads to a sheet metal lined storage
area under the rear dinette seat. The big propane tank is behind the big door at the rear of the coach on the passenger side, just like the Onan is on
the driver's side.

On our 78 Center Kitchen Royale it was a tin storage box under the
dinette seat. We removed the dinette and and the tin box and went to
swivel chairs. We then had the exterior opening filled in when we had
our coach repainted.

Thanks, that makes sense. The rear bath doesn't have room for it at the back but the center kitchen would. Sounds like a good place to store a
trolley Jack tools etc ......and would be easier to change if I wanted two captains chairs instead of a dinette.....

Don't change "STUFF" before you use it a while. Sometimes, the original
interior designers did their jobs very well, and got it right.

Pete,
On my center kitchen Royale, the dinette has been removed and 2 chairs have been installed in its place.
I personally think the chairs are a much better setup.
To really do it right, you should remove the incline on the floor (which I have not done yet), but can still be done with the incline.
I am in the process of removing the barrel chairs and putting in wall hugger reclining chairs. I have one in already, and I couldn't be happier!!
Send me your email, and I will send you some pictures of the chairs.
