hi all, does anyone know what this is for? I think it may have been some sort of optional thing that was never completed but have no idea what for. I showed it to Jim Bounds and he also had one at his place with the same thing but said it was the only other one he had seen.

at the top is a female conduit connector so whatever option it was may have been electrical. anyone know?

yes, just a painted plug pvfjr our '74 doesnt have it or the steel heater duct on the lower side outside wall (facing inner fender well)

Have several more shots of it that might be good reference for others Christo, should I post another thread with them all?

Nothing wrong with keeping it in this thread, unless you already have a build thread going. Should be searchable based on the words we've used.

ok, added some thread tags just for the wet bath module here. still want to know what this is on it but these might come in handy for someone out there someday. I pulled the back hatch off and removed the module for insulation work and to clean it up real well inside an out. last photo is the pedestal that it sits on.

but what the heck is that thing?

Yes heater duct , had a aluminum tube feeding it

Do you have this with a tube feeding it? or a photo or something?

heated air rises, wouldn't make sense to put a heating duct (made out of ABS plastic) there. and; as you can see this module already has a metal heat duct down low.

one thought I had was that it may have been for a direct AC powered water heater coil for the shower head. if anyone else notices they have the same cap inside their wet bath, let us know and what year yours is. thanks

I can get a pic of the tube with rubber couplings , but I have already removed it from the coach . It is about 1” or 1-1/8” diameter and was run across the roof/ceiling.

that would be good. where did the tube go and what was in the place of the cap/block off on the inside?

Most of my coach was gutted when I bought it. If I remember correctly it had a little plastic louver on the inside of the tub shower , I can’t find it in my junk pile. I’m pretty sure the blower motor in the picture had a duct connected to it from the furnace

thanks for the photo Mark.

wow, that is bizarre! certainly looks original with the foam insulation over-spray on the tube. does your bath module also have the steel duct down lower as this one does?

It was definitely factory I had to cut it out of the foam. No mine doesn't have the lower vent

do you know the build date of your coach or did you find any hand written dates on any of the interior stuff? mine is 9/75.

I find it surprising that they would not have put the outlet lower unless it was for something else?

another thought was maybe it was for an optional hair dryer like from those womens hair salons back in the 50s lol

I will have to check but I'm thinking 10/74. hair dryer , maybe

I finally emptied out the wet-bath in our coach when I was winterizing, and look at what I just found! It reminds me of those overhead airplane ducts. I feel so lucky now.

@Jim Bounds might be curious to see this.

Mark,

Do you happen to know where the tubing was routed or the blower mounted? I'm curious if my coach still has this equipment. Do you know how the blower was activated? I wouldn't think they'd want it wired in parallel with the main furnace blower, since the vent can be closed off tight.

1975 glenbrook built 2/1975 has a shower heat vent with inside nozzle that looks like aircraft passenger air vent. This image shows the tube that goes over the headliner. The blower was configured to run whenever the furnace blower ran. Air flow was weak, the blower noisy and seemed to be a power hog. I removed the blower. It was located behind the top cabinet across the hall from the bath.

I think it was mounted in/behind one of the cabinets not sure on power.
