HERE I SIT AHIGH GETTING IDEAS, AIN'T NOTHING BUT A FOOL WOULD LIVE LIKE
THIS--BUT---WHAT IF;
you put a valve in the fuel fill line between the two fuel tanks. Open when
you fuel up then close. As you roll down lifes hiway the two tanks can not
equalize as fuel is used up. When the first tank is emptied(the AUX. tank)
you switch to main tank and know you have real close to 25 gallons left. It
would make no difference it you had gone up a hill or down a hill; no
equalizing. Now when you refuel you open the valve again and fill both
tanks.
I know there must be something wrong with this----it sounds too simple!!!
Somebody tell me it won't work!!!

Thats a modification that I hope to make this winter on my coach, although
not exactly like that. I am going to install new gas gauges when I put in
the new gauges.

Jerry,

Good thinking, yes it would work. You would need a valve with an 1 1/4"
opening. I am sure they are out there (maybe a mechanical one). Your
guages then would more match the logic on the use but it would not make
your teeth brighter, women wouldn't chase you any more and it would do
nothing for your performance.

I love new ideas to make things work better and this would solve an
annoying quirk of the GMC, but I don't think anyone would be willing to
spend the $ needed to do it.

I may be wrong and I would like to hear from others about this. I have a
great source for such a valve & will researce it if someone is interested.

Let me know, its "free Fri." today,

Jim,
Your absolutely correct that it could be done, but the cost of an
actuated valve of 1 1/4" size would be costly and the fact that 1 1/4"
valves are not industry standard. It's footprint(size) would make it
very difficult to mount under the coach and you do not want to install
it inside the coach for safety reasons.
