What gauges should one add?

I have the stock gauges and although they work, I and am planning on adding more gauges, and looking for suggestions.

I am also interested in seeing pics of your setup(s).
 
I have a Tach/Vac combination gauge which I find handy in hilly areas to let me know when to shift down. I also have a Transmission Temperature gauge.

One thing I really like is the DigiPanel. It lets me just glance at it and if all the LEDs are green, then I know I'm in safe operating ranges without having to take my eyes off the road and squint to read each gauge. It also has an audible warning when things are going bad. Applied GMC bought the company when the owner decided to retire.

X2 on this. Tachometer, trans temp, and vacuum are my biggest three.

Lower priority (but nice to have) are a voltmeter and ammeter. I put them in less obvious places, as I only need to check them occasionally or if I think something is acting up. An air-tank pressure gauge could be useful for peace of mind at times as well. I have one mounted on the tank itself, but I find that less than handy for obvious reasons. I'm also adding an AFR gauge since I'm a geek that likes tuning and I can't smell the tailpipe from the driver's seat...
 
I have an added Tach, Vacuum, and Voltmeter. I had a trans temp gauge but took it out because the trans pan temperature never got high enough to make it useful.
 
I usually have the EBL What's Up Display (WUD) going on my tablet so that gives you just about all the information one can handle. It can log everything so you can play back your whole trip as well!

Those with the EBL can also run WinLog-EBL and make up virtual screens for display.

Bruce and I don't agree on everything. Just those things that matter.
I am a refugee from dynoland and a ship's engineer by trade. I have to know what is happening or I get nervous.
We have a Digipanel with the transmission temperature, a separate vacuum gauge and a cheap digital tachometer. The factory lube oil pressure and coolant temperature are both readable enough for me.
The vacuum gauge is so I know if the transmission should have shifted and the tachometer is so I know it did.

Another thing you should consider if you plan to work the coach as a traveler (not just bop from FHU to FHU), would be a real battery monitor for the house bank. Look for one from Victronic or Bogart. This can report the actual amount of battery power you have available. They are a lot more than just a volt meter. They are not cheap, but if you are doing and dry camping or real boondocking, they are essential in my opinion.

Wow, so many great responses.

So far the engine setup in my coach is original, and I am planning on staying with the Carb for now.

What i’ve gathered so far, I’m going to want Vacuum, Tach, Trans Temp, and Volts.

My stock guages seem to work fine, so would an Oil pressure with numerical markings be recommended over the stock guage?

How about some guage pic ls of installs keeping the original dash (not custom dash)?

If you zoom in, just a simple 2 gauge pod on the lower dash. holds my engine temp gauge and my tranny temp gauge.

For me oil pressure i am fine with oem. I just want to know i have oil pressure…. Does not need to be exact. . You can ooose lots of sleep trying to wonder about exacts. So dont sweat that one. If too low, it is too late.

Water temp though, big difference between 212 and 230.
 
Tach/Vac is made by Westach. Mine is a different model and does not appear to be available anymore.

Here is the current model and is $225 direct from Westach.

My Gauge recommendations:
Coolant temp showing actual numbers (how hot is "H"?)
Oil pressure showing actual psi
Voltmeter
Transmission temp
Tachometer

Other potentially helpful and/or distracting gauges could be:
vacuum
air-fuel ratio (w/ O2 sensor in exhaust)
Rear air bag pressures
Tire pressure and temperature monitors

Here is the Tach-Vac gauge from JimK's site. Not sure if you will like the $400 price, but I paid over $200 back in 2009 if I recall. If you have deep pockets, a call to Westach to find out if they will build you one. If I recall its an aircraft based product hence the $$$$
Single gauges are cheaper.
