I need a new project like I need a hole in the head, so I went and looked at this on Friday. I think it's coming home. Transport will be fun. The GMC is too easy to work on, so this will allow me to embark on a new journey of never finding parts.

It's good to have a lot of projects, makes you spend your time more efficiently. Of course it'll also drive you crazy, but you'll be a very efficient crazy person.

This truck has survived two previous owners while sitting. Guy A was the actual owner/driver/farmer, and passed away. It has WA tags from 1997--way newer than some of my other projects. After it sat a few years, his wife got all the inheritance paperwork together and sold it in 2003. Guy B bought it and shipped it down to Oregon. He set it in front of his shop, where it started gathering more moss. Guy B reportedly had a lot of projects, and never got around to it. He then passed away as well, I think within the last couple years. This is the last remaining vehicle his wife has to sell. It sounds like it's been a journey for her--a glimpse into my wife's future I'm sure. I should probably have another 40-50 years left, so I'll "get around to" making things easier someday.
We do have the original, signed WA title on hand. Guy B never titled it, nor did Widow A name him as the buyer anywhere. So the whole chain of ownership isn't accounted for, which may be OK if I ever get around to titling it with our Oregon DMV.

6 stitches. Ripped open the skin between the nail and the knuckle on both figures. Pretty nasty securing the large skin flaps. It happened because stupidly I neglected to put my work glove on when I was trying to put the 12v Victron Multiplus into place and my hands were under it when it fell. Thankfully no broken bones. On the bench until Tuesday when the stitches are removed.
@sailor man how are the fingers coming along? Must've been frustrating having a symmetrical injury like that.
Transport went well enough on the Diamond T. It only kept me away from the GMC for an afternoon/evening. We had to stop several times to mitigate flying debris and the bed disassembled itself. Luckily we were able to spot things as they started coming loose, before they departed. I can't wait to pressure wash it and knock down the rest of the rotted wood sides.

I need a new project like I need another hole in my head, but this 08 volvo c70 hardtop convertible was almost free and comes with the common optional blown engine. My hope is to repair the engine and tow it with the GMC on a brake-equipped dolly .
It's a little heavy for a towd, but since it's FWD it can go on a dolly and if the dolly has brakes it should be fairly safe.
Bonus feature of the car is that the front of it is a little beat up anyway, so a few rock chips while towing won't matter.

I've always kind of wanted a C70--been close to getting a cheap one multiple times but never pulled the trigger.
Shame it has a blown motor. Did they have any T5 6MT versions of those? That was always my favorite S40/V50 combo.
Temps in the 90s, <15% humidity and wind gusts over 60 mph. Recipe for a nightmare.

I would love one, but this will be an escape pod / grocery getter / sightseer vehicle and therefore it's important my wife can drive it. Technically she could drive stick but just to avoid stressful situations it's better that it's auto.
Luckily it appears that they used the exact same engine in a plethora of different vehicles for over 10 years.
Indeed, they did. I guess I'm lucky my wife loves driving a stick--it simplifies having a toad. The C70 should be pretty easy to get parts for, so long as they're not related to the convertible top itself. They pretty much kept the same engines in all their models. Many, many small differences over the years to watch out for though.
