I will be receiving a wet bath module very soon and was wondering what I
should expect. Will I have to remove the rear of the motorhome, if so what
is the easiest way to do so? Are the screws (that's what they look like)
going to be difficult to remove? Is there any type of seal that I will have
to be careful not to damage? Does anyone have any suggestions?

In the December 98 issue ofCinnebar's "GMC Motorhome News" they had an article
on how to do the shower drain installation 800-720-2227

Justin,

Sometimes the "high-low" screws that are used to hold the rear window panel in
are corroded to the point that they won't loosen from the metal insert sleeves
they are threaded into. That was the case with my '76 Transmode, and no amount
of penetrating oil and impact wrenches would free them up. I finally got them
out by carefully heating a large Phillips's driver with a propane torch while
holding it against the screw head. The heat loosened the fiberglass into which
the inserts were threaded and then the whole assembly, insert and screw, would
come out. Check with Jim Bounds who I believe has replacement screws.

Another option you might consider is to see if you can take out one of the large
windows and then pass the module through that opening----that is if the width
dimension on the module is not too great.

Good luck with this one.

I did this on my Transmode-to-Motorhome project. The module will ONLY go in thru the rear hatch or windshield opening (which I doubt is an option for you). The screws for the back hatch are tough ones. They usually rust into the fibre glass and the head deteriorates from rust as well. I used a hand held impact wrench to remove all but 4 of them. I got the last four using a technique I learned about here on the WEB! You put the screw driver in the screw head then heat up the screwdriver blade with a propane torch so as to transfer the heat to the screw. Don't get too close to the coach with the torch. The heat allowed me to break 'em loose. For replacements, I used Jim Bounds (GMC COOP) Stainless Steel replacement set. It is different from factory because it uses an insert that's put in the hole and the screw is threaded into the insert. No more rust! and removable if need be. HTH.Thom

Hi my motor home was a showroom. Nothing but shelves and carpet in it. It
does have a black tank. All of the holes are in the floor still. I can see
where the kitchen sink hooks up to. I can see where the toilet hooks up to.
I can see where the bath sink hooks up to but can't figure out the shower
drain. Your web site does not show anything that I can use.
Thank Bryan
