Still working and it puts out two 110 hot feeds and a neutral to give you 220. It was a
simple mod on my unit and I will look up how it was done. My Onan is not the original,
but is a 6KW. If you have a fax I can drag out the documentation and send it to you.

Your mileage may vary, do at own risk, never heard of you and was out of town at the time
so don't blame me.

Before not doing this always refer to the schematic and verify with a volt
meter. I did not do it and did not see exactly what he did, but the hook up is
in the manual and he did not move the output wires , but the jumpers as listed
on the schematic.

My Onan only has one set of windings. So it couldn't be wired for 220.
There must be different flavors floating around.

The other option would be to find a surplus transformer that would carry
the power.

The big story here is that, No one recommends doing this. You may, in fact, burn up your
genset. This modification is not endorsed in any way by any body here. For sure, Onan does NOT
RECOMMEND doing this.

This modification is in my manual for my genset. They show it as an option. The manual is from
Onan. Perhaps it only applies to the model that I have.
