We are in the median, mile 11 of I-95. We aren't going anywhere from here on our own wheels.

About two hours ago, just before I was about to hit send on the last note, something busted. We ran off the left edge and into the freshly turned
soil.

I don't yet know what failed, but the tire is flat and the wheel is not where it should be. There is also a lot of collateral damage, but until the
tow company can get us to someplace that I can look underneath I don't know how bad this will be to repair.
We already have friends working for us, but getting off the highway is the first issue.

Stay tuned

Matt

So very sorry to hear of your front suspension problems - just glad you are both safe!

Dang Matt, Glad you guys are OK! Not a lot of vehicles nowadays can take the front end destruction and subsequent running aground at speed without
complete loss of control. Apparently the GMC and a skilled driver can handle the situation...Time for some more parts! Hope it's not broken too badly

Oooh, looks like a broken ball joint or lower control arm. I was thinking
maybe a blown-out torsion-bar socket from the first description.

Agree. You would think arm fatigue as lower BJ is self loading. Glad Matt and Mary are ok.

Friday late afternoon our coach lost oil pressure and left smoke behind us
south of San Antonio TX
The Digi Panel flashed Red and beeped.
Lost power so I pulled off .
The Digi Panel shut off the engine and seemed to saved it.
We went to Black List to see who living in the area knew of a shop to asses
the damage.
We contacted Steve Hendricks San Antonio , he suggested we have the coach
pulled to his place.
The first AAA towing did not listen to my request for a medium rig with
front tire lift so he couldnt do it and wanted to send a trailer.
I refused to wait another 2 hours and told him I don't want to use him and
googled a regular full priced towing co that listens to me and send a
medium truck with wheel lifts and dropped us to Steves house and paid him
full price, which I will get reimbursed from our insurance co.
Next am Steve was the first to jack up the front to see that the oil filter
had been cut by the inner constant Vel
As the bracket bolts had dropped off .
Steve and I agreed we need to see if engine is or not usable, so we
replaced filter and put oil in the filter and filled the engine and cranked
it with ignition disconnected.
Cranked till oil pressure came up then connected ignition and ran engine .
I know where the pressure was at idle whenhot so when it reache the max
temp.
Apparently the Digi Panel shut off the engine and saves it
We left Steves house and travelled 160 miles and all seems fine.
Thank you Steve
Also thank Black List

Very interesting - I did not know the Digi Panel had the capability to turn your engine off! I have one of your Digi Panels mounted in our 76 Eleganza II. Does it have to be special wired to do that?
