Dave,

So this coach weighs in at a total of 12,545 pounds? Or am I missing
something here?

Status of propane and water tanks is the question.......... and the
answer is....

We were just finishing up a week at an FMCA rally in February so my guess
is: Propane tank low water tank low holding tank full! Fuel tanks
low due to running Onan about 12-15 hours.

However, wife was unavailable for weigh-in so I borrowed another female
of lithe frame as a stand in! [g]

geneaology with her and sice she goes waaaaaayyyy back it weighs about
500 lbs MOL!

I am always heavy. To reduce weight I jetisoned the roof pod, one air con
and the ladder. But when I took the remaining good skirt off I found
about 5 pounds of tar hiding there so........? We probably have another
coupleof hundred lbs of tar and other detritus in and on the frame.

Where can I buy helium? How can I transport it in My
truck to get it Home? Its going to start snowing
soon and I am afraid that My 3/4 ton dodge will
become two light durring the transport of the helium.
Anyone have some lead I could use? That might offset
the helium.
How do You stop it from blowing away when the doors
opened? This is My thrid trip and still no change
in Motorhome Weight. I gotta go, I must be tired.
My voice sounds like Donald Duck when I talk.(G)

True story about weight on the road.
Was listening in on two truckers on I-20 talking about truck weights. One
replied he was lighter loaded than when empty. The other, surprised, asked
what he was carrying. Helium to Cape Canaveral from Dallas. Said he
floated over scales.
Now, where can I find helium bags that fit around the gas tanks, black, grey
water tanks, potable water tank, propane tank, and a bag to lift the Onan?

Hi Arch,

A good suggestion altho my dinette is moved to the rear of the bus! But I
have twin beds up front and drawers under them big enough for more
batteries. Hmn, maybe I can get rid of my Onan. It has over 7,000 hours
on it!

Save the effort, Helium can be bought at any place that fills kids ballons
or can be purchased at any welding supply house...
(we use about 8 tanks a week on the welding tables and Lasers)

BUT it will not stay in a rubber tire tubes or tubeless. it has a
little problem, it likes to escape thru the pores in the rubber. :)
Plastic is different, it will stay in plastic a little longer.

I took out a bed that was built up using 3/4" plywood and a heavy
mattress, etc. I may have shaved a 100lbs or so but since I also added
weight to the middle and front it should effectively lighten the back
some more...I think. I haven't reweighed the coach since the
reconfiguration.
