Weekend Rally

I just thought I would share a great weekend. Several years ago I bought an
abandoned coach whose owner had died and it had sat there for 8/10 years or
so. $1000 to the widow. (I was generous). Had it hauled home from The
Dalles, Oregon to Fremont, Ca on the back of a slant bed. (Backhaul for
$500) Felt bad that I got it done that cheap so big tip.

Spent the time and money to make it roadworthy and clean and neat enough to
make wife happy. My first GMC was a 73 bought in '79 and I have over 250K
miles in several different ones so knew what I was getting in to. Wife
finally said she wasn't going anymore if she had to make that back bed so
this was an Avion, with twins.

I belong to the GMC49ers Club and we had a rally in Tuolumne,Ca last
weekend. Round trip a little over 250 miles, elevation change of a little
over 2,000 feet. Ran like a Deere. Yes I did knock the hose to the macerator
loose with road debris (tire) so dumped black water on the site, but WHAT A
GREAT TRIP. What a great coach. So, get out there and take that coach on a
trip. What a fun way to spend a weekend.

Dean,
Having the bed where one does not need to roll over to go to the bathroom
is a great benefit.
