Hello, I'm new here and my english ist not so perfect - I hope you apologize :p .
We live in Germany and we baught an Ultrastar champion buildt 1992 in Canada.
It was imported 2002 to Germany and sold 2013 to a couple in Bayern.
We bought it in summer 2015, took it hime an on the journey home suddenly
the servo pump made steering and braking nearly impossible.
Our workshop here in Germany ordered an new one, installed ist and we drove home.
Later this day we visited a friend a town nearby, backwards in his yard, stopped
the motor and when we started again, the servo was disappeared.
Now our mecanic is looking and phoneing with his
specialistes for american cars. We are very disappointed, because we wanted to
make a little journey with our ultrastar.
Did you hear probably from other persons who had the same problems and perhaps solved them?
I'm looking forward to your answers, hope we get help.
We putted a lot of money into this car - amongst other things for the roof, witch was completely
made new and we want to have a litte fun with it.
The first time we saw him,we were fallen in love :p
So lots of greetings from South Germany
Susan

G'day,

Not a GMC, and have no idea who made the systems, but maybe we can help...
Make sure the drive belt is still turning the pump and then:
1) Check the fluid level in the pump reservoir and check for a leak if it is low.
2) The bypass valve at the output connection of the pump could be blocked with debris or is malfunctioning.
3) If there is any filter in the system (including a screen in the reservoir), it may be blocked and need to be cleaned or replaced.
4) If the steering and brake systems are in series with each other (fluid flows from one to the other and then back to the pump and there is only 1
high pressure line to only 1 of the systems), one of the systems may have failed.
5) The new pump is bad.
6) The pulley on the pump has given up and is spinning but not turning the pump. Actually had this happen to me on a 1988 Ford F-150. It had a plastic
pulley with a metal insert that was pressed on to the pump shaft, and the plastic gave up its grip on the insert.

Hello Susan,
My English is not so perfect either. Especially after happy hour!!
What is a "Ultrastar"? I think everyone on this forum would like to help you, but I've never heard of that brand here or anywhere else.
But I think someone here will chime in with some help.
Don't give up, and good luck.. Scott.

Maybe. Maybe not. This forum is for GMC class A motorhomes manufactured between 1973 and 1978.

I think the ultra star was a model made by the old champion Motorhome co if my memory serves me right?

Susan,
the Ultrastar is not a GMC MH so were not as helpful as we like to be.
The drive train and frame might be GMC, but they are different.

> Hi,
> Google Ultrastar motorhome. There are a number of hits including a club at
