water pump rotation

Morning,

my 23' still has the original water pump in it. Makes a lot of noise,
but does not seem to put any water out. Now I wonder, if it runs the
wrong way round. Before blindly switching plus and minus, I wonder if
anyone would enlighten which way it should rotate, looking directly at
the belt.

Clockwise or counter clockwise?

The water pump looks identical to the one on page 24J-4 in the GMC
Maintenance Manual (Page 814 in the PDF).

Any information is greatly appreciated.

Problem solved. Pump runs correct, it was just faster leaking water
somewhere, than I was able to carry new water into it...

Counter clockwise

Note to self: In the future, make sure all drain valves are closed -
ALL, not just some
