Found and eliminated a water leak that plagued the fresh water system. The
city water connection was replaced by a PO several years ago. When they
installed the plastic bodied connection, they screwed it onto the existing
hard plastic line.
Time and vibration created a crack in the body. It started small but got
BAD. I looked for a separate check valve etc trying to find the source of
the leak. Finally took the entire back of the closet out and turned on the
pump. A little movement of the water line and the leak was back.
Bought the new unit and started to install it. Printed on the instructions
where nobody could miss it was the caution to install a flexible line
between the unit and a hard line.
If you're working in the area you might want to look to see if you have the
same problem ready to happen.
