Stronly suggest the one from canada. Great design, comes with new
heater element. Stainless and has nice insulation. Works well and
looks good. You migh want to reconsider.

Can anyone tell me about the second design water heater? I've
developed a drip.... in the GMC..smarten up .

I pulled out the heater in Cheyenne, bought a bolt and rubber
washer in a hardware store and screwed the bolt into the hole with
the washer at the top of the bolt. Everything had been 'slathered' in
high temp silicone so the seal was excellent. After it bottomed out
, I wiped off the excess silicone, and covered the whole mess with
JB Weld....great stuff Justin :-)
Total cost for stuff not carried in the tool box.....$ .68.
Total time about 2 hours (second design comes out under the
sink)

But I digress, my question was........Cinnebar wants $280 , some
guy in Ontario wants $ 180 and I want to make one myself. Were
the originals lined with anything, or galvanized, or just steel ?
Has anyone purchased a new one ? Were the ends rounded like
the originals or were they just flat, and does hot water pressure do
strange things to flat ended hot water heaters??
So many questions, so little knowledge.........
Has anyone already made one??

Anything at all will help, that bolt is only gonna hold another 2
years or so :-)

Thanks for the reply. However, our politician friends have dictated
that $180 US equals approx $270CDN.
I will have a look at Patrick's site, but I've gotta do this on the
cheap or the bolt stays in :-)

There is no question in my mind about this one. Get the SS one from
the guy in Canada. Best piece of SS work I have ever seen. There are
pictures of mine on Patrick's page.

Take Care
