I took a look at my original Atwood electric water heater late, late,
late last night. I found that it did not work because every black wire
in the control box was devoid of insulation. It had all become brittle
and most had fallen off. The heater element was new and shiny both
inside and out. A bit of 12 guage wire, a few ring terminals and some
heat shrink tubing I got at a flea market for $1.00 for a 4' length and
viola! Hot water at last! Just need to spend some time on the Onan to
get backwoods hot water. Sure wish I had a preheater. Cant stand
replacing something that works.
