A friend of mine has an Isetta and a gal I work with has a Messerschmitt,
which was a competing little car where two occupants sat in line underneath
an old fighter canopy. He drives his Isetta in cruise events and such but I
don't know how much or how far he's used it. I, for one, think it's a great
idea for a lightweight tow vehicle. So would you tow it three down, two
down, or one down?

(new to list - but dad's had a coach for years and is thinking of passing it
my way)

Does anyone out there in GMCland know of a running BMW Isetta for sale?
If so, please put me in touch with the owner, so I can have a toad. I
am the Founding President of the first BMW Club in the USA, and I think
it would be fun to have another toy.

I will, but you think a GMC is expensive!

I used to have several when I was young. I had to tow them when they broke
down, but this time I was thinking about a small trailer painted to match the
GMC.

Wayne, I drove an Isetta when I was "young" and found them interesting.
However, when I saw my last one in a museum in New Zealand, I would be
worried about driving in one as there does not seem to be much safety
equip. Secondly, I wonder how they would be to tow since the back wheels
are so close together. Just my .02c

I had neighbors that ran one of mine over an enbankment many years ago, and then
laughed while a wrecker pulled it back up.

Be careful HOW light a vehicle you tow. My uncle had an Isetta years ago.
One night 4 of his friends carried it to his front porch where he found it
blocking his door the next morning. :-)
