I never use gaskets for transmission pans, even in cars that keep the=20
gasketed area soaked full time in fluid. I never have problems with leaks.=

My experiance is that modern sealers work much better than the cheap cork=20
gaskets that come with most trans filter kits. Skipping the gasket makes=20
the pan and trans much easier to clean up the next time I have to remove=20
the pan.

I agree that there is probably not much to gain regarding heat dissipation.=
