Vonda,

Welcome to the group, family, cult, asylum.

You have a coach and found your way here and that is great.
You even already have a sample of what this community can do for you. Now, hang on and enjoy the ride.
Everything you need to know and everybody that knows anything about them is available here. All the original documentation for everything can be
downloaded at http://www.bdub.net/GMCLinks.html, and I mean EVERYTHING.

Now, before long, please build a sigfile. It should have your real name (this is so when you meet other owners, they will know who you are), a bit
about the coach (You said 76 Eleganza II, but list major mods as that can make a difference) and a geographic reference (several reasons here, first
is that the e-mail don't see the header, and some one that might help could be in striking range) for this, North West New Jersey works. That ties it
down to a very small area. Besides, all the little towns up there are in walking distance of each other. (Says a guy that spent a lot of his younger
years in Morris Plains.)

The important thing is what you have already seen. This is a helping and supportive community. But, realize that everybody here has an agenda that
you should be aware off. We all have the same agenda and that is to see that you get to enjoy your coach as much as we enjoy ours. The freedom that
a coach can get you is awesome in the true sense of the word. The only other community that I know of that is like this is that of the watermen that
are my world. For that reason, I have taken to welcome new owners here much as a new owner or vessel is welcomed there. So,

May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that set forth within her.

Welcome Vonda

Matt

Thank you so much for the warm welcome!

I am definitely trying to make sure I find all of the information and groups recommended by those in the FB group which is the first group I was added
to by Danielle as she is local to me and has a '73 GMC.

For the sigfile, do you mean my signature within the forum? I am doing as much reading as I can to insure I get our coach in good shape prior to
another voyage. Scott and I made a decent size list going over it the other day. Sean, Scott and I are getting together on Sunday to do more work on
the coach so I can learn from their experience.

Again, thank you for the welcome. I hope to become a helpful member of the GMC community once I find my footing, ha.

Vonda, welcome aboard.
Your message, when posted to the forum, also shows up on the gmcnet.
Many of us on the net, as it is more commonly known, do not have any
interest in participating in Facebook. So, if you want specific technical
information about your coach, you perhaps are better served on the net. If
you just want to yak with other people about things like lifestyles,
family, social interactions, etc. facebook is your source for that. Also,
pictures can easily be shared there, and are not as easy on the net due to
limited bandwidth. The sigfile helps others know your general location
geographically, and what year and model your coach is so our responses to
your questions are more specific.

To expand on what Mr. Hupy said, those of us that don't facebook don't even have accounts. A lot of times someone here posts a URL of a facebook post
of pictures or something. I click and get "you must be logged in...". Not gonna get a facebook account, so that kind of post does me, and others like
me, no good at all.

So if you want to put photos someplace where they will last as long as there is a GMCNet, use the photo site

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/

Then read the sticky at the top of the forum for the process to imbed them in forum posts so members can see them seamlessly.

When Mr. Hupy said "gmcnet" he was talking about the mail list. The forum is also named GMCnet. There is an interface between the mail list and the
forum servers that sends anything posted to the forum to the mail list subscribers, and anything sent by the list subscribers to the forum. Pretty
cool. But remember that mail list subscribers don't see some of the things visible in the list, like the location field of your profile, so put your
location in your sig. The also don't see any images within the IMG tags, so include a link to images by letting the interface hang the URL tags around
them. The thing that forum subscribers don't see that mail list subscribers see is the email address. Mail list subscribers see the email address of
mail list subscribers AND forum subscribers, forum users see no email addresses except those in people's sigs.

Look for "What's a Signature" on
http://gmc.mybirdfeeder.net/GMCforum/index.php?t=help_index&rid=0

It'll tell you all about it and how to accomplish it.

Lots of us are stuck in our ways. That's why we try to sync the GMCnet with as
many portals as we can. The original GMCnet is strictly email based, but that
is old and hard to deal with for some. Lots of old foggies, (myself included)
like it that way though. It started in 1997. The web forum is a mirror to that
and wherever a message originates, it's copied to the other system. It works
well with a few anomalies from time to time.

Facebook serves an honorable purpose I think you'll agree. Although not near as
good at archival, it is so much more quick and easy to get the word and/or photo
out. Some are slow to pick up on new tech. Heck, I still haven't figured out
what snapchat is for or Pintrest either.

Vonda - Welcome to the underground. Where the experts reside and you will get the real answers. (Yes, FB has its place)

Bdud - Don't feel alone about Snapchat and Pinerest. I've tried to keep up with all the new sh... stuff and finally gave up. You are doing just
great.

Yes, I'm primarily on FB due to being 3,000 miles from where I grew up. Most of my immediate family prefer FB over other forums so I just go with it.

I will look at the signature settings and update accordingly. I tend to keep my privacy settings high, so I didn't add much when I signed up, but I
will add our year/model.

I have run a few searches for questions about our Eleganza. I'm definitely thankful for the forum and the knowledge here. I'm sure over the course of
the next few months I will have a LOT of questions.

The sigfile lets people know what you have, how it's modified, and where it is. Taking them backwards, 'Northwest Joisey
is close enough for people to determine your proximity. A '73 coach primes folks to the idiosyncrasies of that year model. frinstance, smaller
bogie pins, refitted door lock, excreable dash A/C, air suspension controls. A listing of major mods also helps those making suggestions.
