Our friend in Iowa has a visitor from New Zealand with a Suburban heater
problem. Bein' as how winter's arriving in that part of the world, he
needs help! I know NOTHING about Suburbans (I don't go where it gets
cold!), so I'm looking for a Guru to contact him with advice.

TIA,

Ken H.

What is the problem and year ?

Michael, Jon, et al,

The New Zealander is visiting in Cedar Rapids. What we really need is
someone with Suburban expertise whom I can put in touch with him. He's
capable of following suggestions, but knows little about that equipment.

I'll pass on contact information to volunteers.

Bummer. If he was in des moines I am sure galen would help.

Cedar rapids i am not sure of someone there.

A few photos we could go through some things. I am familiar with the suburban in my coach.

Just the basics of making sure switches are on. Valves open(usually one near furnace). And such. Does it try to light or just plain dead.

Mobile rv tech would be my suggestion if he cant find a good samariten. He is in Bob D’s town .

The first thing to happen when thermostat calls for heat is the fan motor comes on. The fan motor also runs the draft inducer off it’s opposite
shaft. This satisfies the draft sail switch. The board then times about a 15 second delay followed by ignitor and gas valve opening. You can ask how
many of these telltale sounds are happening and diagnose from there from that info. More detail on model info so they can get the manual would help.

Sometimes the unit need full 13 volt power, so fire up the engine or
generator to make sure it gets all the power it likes to ignite.

Thanks to everyone for responding to my email requesting help for the
visitor from New Zealand. He should have now talked to one of our "gurus".
