G'day,
I grew up in a German household where DICIPLINE was the word EVERY DAY! Until I was a senior in High School I had to be home and in
bed by 9:00pm. The USAF was a walk in the park discipline wise. After basic at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX I was sent to tech
school at Chanute AFB, Rantoul, IL where I was trained as a Mechanical Accessory Repairman and was made a barracks commander (green
rope). I turned the tech training into a fantastic job as a Field Rep for Hamilton Standard and working overseas for 25 of my 30
year career I made enough to retire at 55. THANK YOU USAF!
Regards,
Rob M.

Yep. Kids today don't learn the things they need to know that we learned as a matter of course. I already knew discipline and
respect, but the three
years I spent in the Air Force trying to do right by the taxpayers was the most aggravating and frustrating decade of my life. I
have a DD214 that
would get me discounts at lots of places, and free breakfast a Denny's today, if I ever get around to figuring out where I stashed
it 30 something
years ago...
I fought the fools in my chain of command, many of you fought real battles. God bless all you veterans that served honorably.
