Troops...... I'd like to keep my wheels stock looking, because I like the
way my Coca Cola looks and also because I'm financially challenged. Having
to take my hubcaps (curb feelers) off each time I wanted to check air
pressure was a real grind, so I started looking for valve stem extenders.
To say the least they're somewhat hard to find. I did have one of the
largest tire dealers in this area tell me not to worry though because
motorhomes don't have to have tire pressures checked very often. Finally a
little tiny tire/lawnmower shop here in Bandon found me some beautiful
German-made brass ones complete with Schraeder valve and cap for $6.50
each. They're 3 1/4 inches long, which puts the cap right outside the
hubcap on mine. If any of you purists are having the same problem, he said
he'd mail out a set of 6 for $45.00 which includes shipping. I got so
carried away that I bought two Michelin 16.5 XPS Rib tires from him for
$167.00 mounted and balanced. The name of the place is J and D Tires,
Route 2, Box 440, Bandon, Oregon 97411........Jim Davis on the Oregon Coast
where the fog should burn off in a few minutes.
