Value added for the Howell/GM EFI

Justin,

I have just been perusing the Fitech documentation and looking at the timing profile. It does not mention a knock sensor input.

Did I miss something or do they not make timing corrections?

Matt,
You didn't miss anything, there is no knock sensor with the fitech.
I've read a lot of discussion on the subject and the general consensus seems to be that knock sensors really don't work well unless they were
engineered into the engine to begin with ( I'm quite certain you're more knowledgeable than me in this area!)

The Fitech uses a simple 3x3 matrix for the timing, and is not intended to be used for lean cruise like the EBL.
It's simply an upgrade to a worn out distributor and is easily adjustable.
I based my timing numbers on Dick Patterson's graphs for his dizzys.

Justin,
Your correct about the pro and con of the knock sensor.
I still have a old MSD Knock sensor I use on my Cad 540 .
Depending on location and different part #, I have been coached by couple
people.
I do believe in the theory that you cannot always hear preignition.
Hopefully I will get some people to test location and part # for use on the
403/ 455.
