vacuum gauge readings

I live in Florida have the 3.46 gear, 455 engine and always tow a Saturn. I
pull 20" of vacuum at idle and 13 - 14" at highway speed. I agree with Al
C., the heigth of the hill/mountain determine's how low the vacuum reading
goes.

With the flat manifold of the 455/403 You will always have, what appears to be
low vacuum at highway speed. 12 - 14 is about normal at highway and around 20
something in town. I used to know why but don't remember at this time. Some one
who knows, jump in. Darren
