Hi Netters!
I'm here at Uvalde, Texas with the GMC Classics. Just got back from the
Air Museum and have a little time to work on computer stuff.
There was a front wheel bearing failure by a member on the way and he had
them tow him to here rather than back into San Antonio. He knew there
would be better assistance here than there. Sure enough, Linwood Author
and Jim Davis tore into it at first light this morning. Ken Thoma
supervised and supplied a newly rebuilt hub and knuckle. I took a lot of
pictures and will be posting them as time allows.
Went through some of the prettiest country Texas has to offer on the way
down. Right through the middle of the Hill Country on Hwy. 83. Ya'll have
to come see this for yourselves one o these days. It's beautiful!
Showed off my Warner Puller. Found a lot of interest in it. Think there
will be some more folks ordering one to keep with them. They will mostly
still use Ken for their scheduled bearing maintenance though. He only
charges a $25 bench fee for checking or replacing bearings. Parts are, of
course, extra. He's a great guy!
Will let you know when pictures are posted.
