Just a wannabe here.

Question: Would a person be better off to by a "good"
GMC that looks like everything has already been done
to it?

OR: Would a handy person be better off buying a
cheaper, original with low miles(50,000) that you know
you are going to have rebuild the frontend soon,
timing chain the engine or more, etc....?

Terry the wannabe
Thanks

Well I guess that might be part of the question. Just
where would be the cut-off point.

I know where one is for under $6,500 with 139,000
miles on it. And I know where an original is with
50,000 miles on it they are asking $17,000 for.

Even though it looks like everything has been done, it probably hasn't.
There will always be other things to do. Lots of good shops are out
there to do your front end and there is lots of help here with all the
other projects you will be doing. As always, it comes down to, buy what
you want and like, and take care of the other problems as you go. Looks
aren't everything. Darren

Thanks for all the replies about my question.

I have the skill to do the mechanical stuff if my back
lets me but not upholstery work. My wife thinks she
might try some of it.

I guess I would say I probably want one I could start
off using and upgrade as we go along.

BTW someone wrote about the Onan "Industrial" being a
good generator. While it is, someone that didn't know
better might be mislead because there is an
"Industrial" model and NO ONE would want one in an RV,
there are very noisey, RVer's want the "RV" model
if they are replacing one.

Thank's again,
Terry the wannabe
