For those of us who are not quite seniors yet...
Dos this mean that lifetime passes will still be available at the $80 cost, or does it mean that even seniors will have to pay $80 per year?

" available to any U.S. citizen or person residing in the United States who is 62 years of age or older for:

a period of 12 months from the date of issuance at a cost of $20; and
the lifetime of the passholder at a cost (currently $10) equal to the cost of the National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass."

I read it as $80 for a lifetime pass.

RC, I read it differently: Quote:

It ends up being 20 bucks after the online fee and the credit charge fee. If you go to one of the places you can get it in person it's only 10 but
that isn't an option for me. I don't know if the new bill, if it is approved, will have a future implementation date but I expect it will. It's not
good EVERYWHERE. When Ken Henderson and I were at Mt. Rushmore, there was a sign at the parking lot saying it was not accepted.

$20 total, including a $10 "processing fee"

If you dig into it, it is only promised to be good at National Parks. Things that are titled as National Monuments are not included and this is a
surprising number. The only reason we have it is for the COE campgrounds that we use about once a season. The COE crampgrounds just aren't in places
that we go. If you are going "camping" (A motorhome with the comfort of a GMC is not) they might be more use. We usually are only looking for a
place to spend the night.

Louise & I happened to pick up one each last year at a n. park. We'd misplaced our old passes and at $10 each it was still cheaper than paying
admission for us and guests. On the back of mine, other than "National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass" header, the departments listed are
Fish & Wildlife, Forest Serv, BLM, NPS, and Bureau of Reclamation. ACE isn't mentioned specifically.

I just paid $10 for a LIFETIME America the Beautiful pass upon entering the Lake Mead Recreation Area yesterday. It's normally $20 per day. This day
pass is good for access to all Federal lands and National parks free of charge.

LTVA's such as La Posa in Quartzsite are $180/7 months or $40/14 days...a pretty good deal, since they usually have extra amenities from those free 14
day dispersed camping areas, such as improved roads, vault toilets, fresh water and rv dump facilities.
