I decided to change the oil & filters on my onan today and noticed my
starter was resting on the lower tray, as yours was. Nice shiny spot. I
noticed several other spots on the lower section that appeared to be rubbing
on the tray. That can't be good for the generator or the coach. Vibration
from the Onan (and there's plenty) is transmitted to the coach through the
tray, and the generator mount isolators can't do their job properly. My
starter bracket had been broken previously and this is probably the reason.
I haven't figured out how to cure the problem yet, but it will probably
require cubic dollars (new slides? mounts?) knowing the cost of Onan stuff.
