Gary Bovee's Idiot's Guide to the GMC Motorhome was a great resource, but looking at it this morning much of the info is out of date and many links are broken.

So it got me thinking, is there a better way to gather GMC info before it disappears?

Billy has done a great job with bdub.net, but it is up to him to keep it current.

Many Club sites have broken links or the info has disappeared.

Just wondering if there is a collaborative site where people could add and edit information about the GMC. A fellow named Bob (can't remember his last name) started a Wiki page a couple of years ago and he gave me access to it. But I'm getting old and I could not get my head around it.

Any ideas?

I'm on the fence. Building a wiki and keeping it up to date is a lot of work for the contributors and editors. I'm not sure there's enough of an audience of newbies these days to justify that level of administrative load. It might be worth producing a relatively brief guide, or updating Bovee's doc. That, in conjunction with this forum as a 'living' resource, provides pretty good access to information. I'm also playing around with AI chatbot ideas that will improve searchability, but time on that project is very constrained this year.

There's a need for both the forum and a wiki. Yes, there will be duplicated information but it's more of a question of how easily and quickly that information can be retrieved.

I like the idea of a concise collection of GMC hive-mind knowledge where minimal searching is involved. Forum entries frequently digress down rabbit holes. A wiki, essentially a textbook, would allow a more methodical approach to the information.

Gene Fisher's web site was a gold mine and I used to just read. No searching, just click on the next link. Information that you didn't search for, and didn't know you needed was discovered in the appropriate context and with a logical flow.

There will be new options available on the upcoming new gmcmi website.
