greetings all
since this is my first post the first thing I want to
say is thank you, thank you patrick for this forum.you
cant git this kind of info anywhere else.I have read
all archives and saved it all
I have a 77 transmode that was a demo vehicle for the
prescolite corp.it had no windows (not even in the
rear) and (2) 6000 watt onans ((1)now)the po bought it
with with intentions of making a motorhome but didn't
have the time,I bought it and its been in my barn for
a few years,I didn't have time either(had to build a
house).
the unusual part about my coach is the roof.it has a
raised fiberglass roof,it starts about 12" in from the
side rails and extends up to the top of the air
conditioners.it goes from the back edge of the front
cap to front edge of the rear cap it envelopes both
air conditioners (you cant see the air cond's from the
side but you can from front and rear) the ends are
sloped to match the slope of the air cond's the top is
flat with rounded corners,it has (2) small vents
w/elect. fans on each side and molded ribs in the
middle, it is professionally done and looks good IMHO.
on the inside the the metal roof has been removed to
form a cathedral ceiling,my intentions are to put
cabinets in this area.I have read post about removing
air and pods from the roof to make the coach less top
heavy. am I in trouble here? will this make the coach
to top heavy?
I have looked at all the pitchers of coaches at
various rallies and different sights on the net and
cant find one that looks like mine.has anybody saw one
that looks like this? I cant belive they would make a
mold for just one coach.

Transmodes came with out windows so the only unique thing about your
coach is the roof and that is unique enough.

Making a mold for a fibreglas roof is not difficult at all. I have made
small boats out of fibreglas and it is fairly easy. The original roof was
aluminum and even the modification would not have been very difficult if
they had done it in aluminum instead.

My guess is they had a good reason for needing the extra interior height.
Maybe the P.O. knows.

It would be interesting to see photos of your coach. Is that a
possibility?

Hi Boyd

I've had an idea to try that with card board panels ever since I got this
coach, just to see what it would look like. I really like the neat
appearance of a coach without any a/c's or pod on top, but am not willing
to sacrifice the comfort and storage.

I go by Weatherford in I-20 every time we go to the metroplex. I'd like
to stop by and take a gander at it one o these days.

I don't think it would be any heavier than having a loaded down storage pod
on top of the roof. I say "Go for it!" I think you're on virgin ground
here. Keep us updated on your progress.

Thanks for the great shots! I can't imagine what the purpose of that was
for? I must say it sure looks huge inside an empty coach!
