I talked to Jim Stevens the manager of the Pelican Lake
RV park.
Jim is an admirer of the GMC RV -- but his hands were
tied.

Seems that the Condo owners in the park voted in a
restriction about the SIZE of the RV.

The park allows only 26' foot and over class A's

Jim says he was forced to denie admission because the
GMC was a 23'. Yes he understands that they were there
last year but it seems that the condo owners have put
there foot down.

Well, talk to your friend again, Pete, cause those GMCs were 26' AND are
Class A coaches!

Isn't it sad that we have lived to see these times. Camping has always
been a great way to meet good people. Well la-dee-da for the uppercrust
snobbery that votes for this kind of restriction. Just wondering if the
color of a coach will be the next type of discrimination in this or
other parks. I hope all of their coaches develop a serious dose of
leakage or dry rot. My thoughts not yours. Darren

If I understand Dave correctly he has what GMC calls a 26 footer. And if
I understand Dave further, Jim may have asked the model year and Dave may
have told him something other than 2000.

This guy Jim, sounds like his last name may be Masloviditch and he is
making up anything that sounds like it might stop the cruise missles,
(like those Albanians are cutting their own throats just to make us look
bad)

To clarify again and again. It wasn't me! But the coaches WERE 26' models
and one was a Palm Beach that is kept in a barn when not in use and looks
like it just came off the show room floor. Bill Schwartz and Don Wirth
were travelling together and got turned away.

As I said in a previous msg I wouldn't have left as long as I was in
compliance with their rules. If I don't like the rule that is another
thing, but if my coach complies, i.e., 26' and a Class A (as reported by
Pete Pappas) then I would have made quite a scene, and then when they
agreed to let me in, I would have told them to stuff it and gone down the
road!

Every entity has a right to set standards for themselves. But as I
understand the standard, our classics meet it.

Gee Dave... you make me feel like I should apologize for myself and
everyone else who mis-understood what you were trying to say!!!

I agree that any campground can set any kind of rules they want. The
marketplace will deal with them and determine if the rules are
appropriate. In the vein of helping the marketplace deal with this
practice and maybe keep this group of GMCers from have to deal with this
annoying surprise at the campground gate, should we look into the
following? Should this kind of exclusion policy, however it is worded,
not be required to be disclosed in the Woodhalls or Trailer Life
Directories as a condition of listing? I think their rules require it.

And so now with baited breath, I venture to ask, is this Campground
JimBob lying through his teeth or was there more to this hearsay snippet?
