Richard,
I found out just how good AAA was when my engine blew in August. I have
the PLUSrv coverage (had it for years w/o an RV) and they have 100 mile free
towing limit. Never used it till that week and they towed me, my kids and
the GMC 105 miles w/o a problem from Sioux City to Omaha. I asked and this
company (not AAA but a member of their network) said $2.40 per mile was the
fee. Sure paid for my membership for a long time!
Then the next week I blew the head gasket on my Lincoln and again got
towed w/o another fee. Found I get 3 tows a year free. Always hated paying
that yearly renewal but as long as I have the "Sweat Lodge" I'll be sure to
keep my dues up! 8-]

Wow what a deal! I wonder how many miles $50 would take a GMC
if it had to be towed?

You should consider using RV Roadhelp
from Allstate Motor Club last year we used them
3 times once for towing to nearest authorized GMC
repair at Ken Frys in Quakertown which cost over $1000
to load on a flatbed and send from upstate NY
where we lost a transmission. Cost is about $75/year.
Allstate arranged for service and
bill was charged to and paid for by Allstate.
NO whining.
NO argument.
GOOD service.
Check them out.
