Johnny, my comment wasn't directed at or towards you, no way, nohow!
It was towards "certain other" GMCMI members who mostly spend a lot
of time managing everyone else's business, yet don't have enough vision to
see how controlling and genuinely "unfun" they have become in the bargain.
I just thought that it wouldn't hurt to remind 'em how off putting that
crap can be. Sorry, if I failed to explain myself sufficiently and clearly
enough.
We in the west would cure that with the "Never ending Margarita Bucket"
instead of half melted ice cream procured from the cheapest vendor we could
find.

Aw I didn't take it personally beyond it gave me some food for thought - and it (mine) was selfish.
I have to take the no sugar or low carb ice cream, it's usually quite good. Now I'm being pestered to Steward a show which overlaps the convention.
Hopefully there will be enough folks without me to cover the show.

I forgive them all, save those who hurt the dogs. They must answer to me in hell

And I'd admire to wander through the PNW sometime... it's the only part of the country I haven't hit one time or another. You can have my share of
the margaritas, but if you're nice I'll give you a pour out of my flask... which usually has Eagle Rare or Blanton's or something close.

I never turn down Blanton's. Single barrel real bourbon whiskey. Have a
commemorative bottle of it with a thoroughbred horse stopper in the
top. When we did Route 66 a few years back, my fellow travelers presented it
to me after we arrived at the Santa Monica pier. On our last night together
at a small RV park overlooking the Beach at Malibu, we drank most of it.
Good GMC memories.

there were two horsetop Blanton's. And I got a signed bottle of Four Roses small batch.

Eagle Rare bottles are slim and will tuck behind the backsplash on my GMC. But it's 'on allocation' every place and I don't buy enough sauce to make
the list. They didn't distill much at the outset ten years back.

My horse top has a jockey at full gallop. Pretty good stuff to rinse the
trail dust out after a long, stressful day behind the wheel into the
setting sun. Best if shared with best friends you have just met. Good stuff
most anytime after 5:00.
After my first wife of 50 years died behind an operating theater
blunder, I spent the next 2 years in my recliner, listening to Bonnie Rait
sing the blues and play the hell out of her various guitars, all the while
drinking Jack on the Rocks, generally feeling sorry for myself. I finally
saw the light of day, and went to a work rally with a bunch of my GMC
friends and ate more Dungeness crab and drank more beer than I thought I
could hold. Worked on installing 1 ton front ends and doing front end
alignments for 4 days or so. Received so much more than I gave, have been
doing it ever since trying to even up the score. Gonna do it as long as I
am able to. That's the short version. It'll take a bonfire and good
company and some Blanton's to fill in the details. You all are welcome at
my place, anytime.

Jim,
Sounds like to attended an SOOR rally eating that Dungeness crab and
helping Manny install a couple of his one ton front end systems. Perhaps
one day we can have another SOOR rally; especially after I finally move to
Oregon.

Jerry, that is exactly when it was. Thanks again for my rescue. You have no
idea how much that means to me. Turned my life around, and headed me back
on track. Would love another go at those crabs.

There are actually 8 unique horse stoppers, if you look carefully, there is a small circle with a letter.
Collect them all and they spell "B-L-A-N-T-O-N'-S"
I am always down for eating more crab and sharing more Blanton's than you may be able to handle :)
Hoping to attend more rally's this year...
