Just a short report while I'm at the airport on my way home from a trip to
Dallas. It was 106 degrees today, and waaay too much humidity.
Anyway, Dollar did a number on my reservation, so I got a comp upgrade to a
brand new Chrysler LHS.
Arch, you'd like this firmware application -- After a couple of full
throttle passes up and down the LBJ freeway ramps, the LHS 'remembered' that
I was an aggressive driver. It would auto downshift when slowing down as I
approached a stop light, and would also delay the upshift points til the
engine was at 5k rpms with only part throttle. Very crisp throttle response,
engine breaking, the whole enchilada.
A little city driving, then a short trip to Richardson - Plano and it
'forgot' I had been aggressive. The tranny resumed what I would consider
'luxury car' shift points.
I know this doesn't pertain to the GMC, but I thought you'd all enjoy a
short report on the wonders of 'fuzzy logic' in a new electronic controlled
tranny.
Makes me wish the GMC tranny was so smart.
