Recently someone posted a note about
pplrv having a $5400 GMC 26.
The toll free number is 1-800-755-4775.
Ask for Terrance. It's located in Houston,TX.

To shorten the story, I called today (must have too
much time on my hands)to see if, at that price, I
could use it for a parts vehicle.
The reply was that it was a little too good for a
parts unit, but that it did require work to be a
motorhome.

Since it's a '73 the thought occurred to me that
someone might get a completely new rear wheel set up
for zero dollars if it hasn't been done already! Did
someone suggest rebuilding this axel system and
transferring it all to a different GMC after leaving
the recall replacement site ? What does it cost to
replace spindles and bushings and brake shoes and
backing plates and wheel cylinders and on and on !
Makes the price pretty attractive!
Yes, Dave I got the T(zee)not(zed)E number. Terrance
says it's TZE063V102989.
Anyone in the area want to have a look and report
back??

Have been corresponding with them over this one. Here's their report on
condition:

Engine runs good. Alternator seems to be out. Air bags leakdown, pump
is not hooked up to real air bags. Normal amount of rust under
carriage.

Looks like a major overhaul to get it off their lot or a Jim Bounds' type
hauler.

I can tell you it is NOT ready to be parted out!!!!!!

I am the one who posted the original message about the MH in Houston at PPL.
I was going to buy the thing before I found the one I bought. I spent about
25 min or so looking at it. The interior of this coach is itsstrongest
strength. I would say it looks pretty damn good. Ready to go. Might need a
little work. The exterior (is rough using used car terms) The coach looks
good from a distance but up close they use cheap paint that is flaking and
faded in parts. It too is ready to go but need to be redone soon. I would
love to talk to anyone about this. Based on what I read below and seeing it
I would say that for less than $1500 or so this thing is ready and as maybe
as little as $500 or so. Do not know. I was going to take the chance on it.
The price is right to get to do some really cool stuff to get it just the
way you want it.

For more Info Give me a call I will be happy to talk to anyone about it.
