Heinz:
According to the GMCMI Newsletter Parts Interchange Index, the final drive
gasket is Fel Pro RDS-55034 or Victor P28883. When I went to NAPA, I got
the Victor gasket.
If you opt for the Ragusa cover, it includes a gasket.

You might want to install a Ragusa cover on your final drive. It has nice
fins on it to help cool the oil. The one thing to be careful with is the
little vent thing on top. Make sure it can vent. I was very pleased with my
Ragusa cover----well made---mating surfaces were well done. It also comes
with a drain plug and a port to put a temperature sensor in it. I filled
mine with Mobile 1. Cant tell you any long term results yet. Thats where I
am.
In a message dated 2/17/99 10:56:30 AM Central Standard Time,
The parts breakdown in the book seems a little vague to me as it seems to
list a cover kit but not realy the gasket by itself.
Am I correct interpreting that the gasket pn# is 409729 and SAE80W Synthetic
Gear Oil is the way to go?
What else should I be looking for in particular other than metal in the oil.
No noises or anything like that that's causing the sudden desire to change
the oil, just guilty conscience.
Thanks to the list my rig will get better care in future [g]
