A few months ago there was a discussion about how to mount the TrueCharge
40/40+ int he electrical cabinet.
I mounted ours horizontally. According to Statpower, the mounting is
acceptable - a vertical mounting is preferred because the charger will be
more efficient (by a few percent). You can see a picture of the unit at my

I also mounted the plug so that it interferes with the hot water switch.
It's a cheap way of making certain the switch isn't accidentally knocked
into the ON position. TO turn the heater on/off you have to pull the cord
foward a bit and then flip the switch.
