Trip Is over, boo-hoo!

Some of you may may recall I was posting daily about
things needed to be done before my big cross country
trip with my family in our newly purchased 73 Sequoia.
Well, 39 days and 9600 miles later, the trip is over.
We had an excellent time and absolutely no problems
except for a broken side window, which Emery Stora
suggested just getting a plexiglass replacement made.
Worked great! It seems all the work I did in prep
paid off. my coach had 99,000 miles on it when we
left.

Tried to keep an on-line journal but connecting was
tough. Half the trip is detailed at:

Used a 800x600 digital camera, so to start that debate
again you can judge the quality. Will fill in the
rest of the trip shortly.

Good to be back, but wouldn't mind hitting the road
again. The TV/vcr I installed went pretty much unused
as the kids (8 & 10) read voraciously. My 10 year old
son finished the new 700+ page Harry Potter book in 3
days. Only saw about 10 GMC's during the whole trip!

Read and enjoyed the whole thing! Glad you had a good trip -- it's not
hard to see why you're ready to do it again. Builds great memories your
kids will never forget.

The most amazing part of your trip seems to be the awesome technology you
uncovered with the great ride at the Grand Canyon! Imagine! A ride that
lets Merry get dumped off the trail smack into the canyon and transports
her to the AdventureDome! What a ride -- can't wait to take that one!! :>)

Can't wait to read the last half of that report!

Even though Earth is larger than the moon, the moon is still farther away.
 
I have never read a trip report where a GMC hit every mountain in the
US. I have spent years missing the roads you took.....Next trip, you will
have to call on the Black list, I could have told you how to camp at candle
stick park in SF, and never, never go down Priests grade.

Great journal. I can't wait to read the rest of it. I'm the guy that tried
Wolf Creek pass in a snow storm (by mistake) so your tale of the roads
scares me. You should submit your itinerary to the net for approval and
comments before you go. Not everyone is aware of a whole bunch of need to
know information like "all roads in New Mexico eventually turn to gravel,
narrow to one lane and then dead end." You must stay on the Interstate or
be prepared for unforeseen adventures.
Seriously, I hope you get to do it every summer.
