There are at least 2 carb inlet filters for the Q-jet. One, long version is
used on the 455. It is a difficult one to start the fuel line threads on
because of the proximity of the thermostat housing.
The second version is shorter, and uses a shorter filter. It has more
clearance to start the threads from the fuel line. I converted my line to
AN-6 braided stainless steel, covered with insul-sleeve. The line is
flexible and much easier to handle.JWID.
