Trends in RV design

Ilike that as well. It is not really like the flowing stripes on the big boxes, and it gives the GMC individuality.

Good job

Then there are those that like the ride and smell of a GM Truck & Bus
Division PD4104 or something similar but don't want to deal with the
maintenance issues or modification procedures to get an over-the-road coach
feeling like a motorhome. The smell of diesel does wonders (or does it fry
the brain?).

Cri$...Like the design!! Judi and I had so much fun with the process, and the final product when we went through this last winter with the 26'r.
I'm flying into Phoenix on monday, the 28th to bring the Texas Mickey back to B.C. via Jimmy K.s in Freemont. If you would like to see this 29.5 footer, it's stored in Scotsdale. I'll give you a call when I get in. (Black list)

Beautiful! The graphics have just the right degree of subtleness. When do
we get to see the real thing?

I agree with Jeremy,
There is just no way one of those big boxes look good with single or two
tone paint jobs. I've seen quite a few that were single colors, usually
white, and they look like a refridgerator on wheels.

Hi Chris,
I'll throw in my two cents (wanted or not, sorry or thanks)... I think it's ok and I give it a thumb up. That's for the effort to make it look more updated according to current coach paint schemes. If I can pick at it, the only curves that I don't like so much are the ones where the angle dips back below horizontal before rising again.

How to explain that without sounding *more* like a n00b idiot... ok, if you look at the genset door, there's a silver curve which has risen front to back but then falls (negative angle - below level), then to rise again. I find the negative angle there and the slight one just below the driver's window... well, not optimal to my eye.

the rest is lovely and the lack of rub-strip...excellent. If the goal is to achieve a more current looking coach by it's paint scheme, it's a complete success either way.

All that said and in complete honesty and hopefully without offence, I wouldn't do it to my GMC (if I had one) because I still prefer to see the GMC shape and if anything, follow its definitive lines to some degree.

It's personal taste indeed - there's a blue one in the photo archives somewhere which is all swoopy, even across windows (darned if I can find it now), and I find that as lovely as yours too - my (perhaps backwards) thinking doesn't seem to let me pass go, to match what is the current trend in motorhome paint schemes.

All this from a guy who likes the camouflaged one, so I do hope you take it for the little it's worth.

Thanks Chris!

Gord ;)

Chris ,
I like your Paint design ,
The only change I would make, if it were mine ,would be to Paint, the Gray
area's Red and leave the other Colors like they are.
Your choice ,of Gray is good also.

No matter how you paint any other brand large box motorhome, it is kinda
like putting lipstick on a pig, When you wake up next to them in the
morning, they are still a pig. A GMC in primer with broken fibreglas corners
still looks better than one, in my opinion. Chris, I like your scheme on
your coach.

Chr$,

My opinion is that your proposed paint and color scheme looks great. The light colors will blend well together. Jim Bounds has done at least one that way (Bling Bling) and has another one with swooshes in progress (Mark's Stretch). There is something to be said for keeping it simple with straight horrizontal stripes, and I like the layout on my coach, but your graphic scheme will provide a fresh, updated look for the coach. In fact, that might end up being the start of a new trend.

Yeah, I'm not sure If I want to do that, Kinda on the fence. I like delineation on the windows...

Thanks Paul!.. Red would be a bit much for me. The coach looks fast enough as it is, and then with me going 80 MPH, that wouldn't be such a good idea LOL.

Dave, I'm camping in it this weekend, then it is going to the paint shop sometime in March. I want it to be done while I am not travelling otherwise, and I have a weekend of pre-prep work to do before I drop it off.

Hopefully by April.

John,

Good point! ;-)

By the way I doubt I'm different from a lot of people here but it was a fair
few years back when I reached the point in life where I really didn't care
what anyone else thought about me, how I look, what kind of car / bike /
motorhome I drive, house I live in, etc.
