Good day....
I recently purchase a '76 Olds Toronado. The perfect car, (for
me).....it had a bad body but good drive train.
My question....
I would like to remove the trans., have it rebuilt where I
know it will be done right, and store it. I suppose I could discuss
this with the transmission guru, but I thought I'd check here first.
The question...how does one store a transmission for , say
5 years, or until needed .......or can it be done ??

Thanks
Mikeb

I would not want to get it rebuilt until I needed it. Store it in a dry
place with all of the fluids in it.

I have been told to store the transmission in it's present state and rebuild
it just before using it. That keeps things from drying out during the
storage.
