A while back there was some discussion about trans. oil leaks. Many
times it was found to be on the speedo cable seal.
I was discussing some things with a local trans.shop owner about our
425 trans. He stated that these trans. were very prone to leaking on
the gear selector shaft. He went on to say that most of the trans. he
has worked on leaked here.
He said that it only leaked when the vehicle was parked due to
converter leak-down, and did not leak when the vehicle was in motion. It
is a leak that if it occurs we should live with, as a trans. teardown is
required to fix it.
So if you cannot find that pesky leak, look here!
