Transmission Flush

I haven't checked on the price of synthetic ATF, but we have a machine at
the shop that flushes the complete system using 14 quarts of fluid - is it
really worth the headache drilling holes in the converter? Just a thought.

I think you said a mothful there Rick- I agree, if a person has doubts about
a convertors cleanliness et al REPLACE it. Good rebuilt converters of equal
or substantially improved quality to OEM arent expensive, local wholesale
cost in my town is under $100 dependent upon the features you want.
Befriending the kids behind the counter at a local family owned transmission
shop is one good tactic;-)

Torque converters are the black hole of the transmission- being essentially
a centrifugal debris collector, the trash that goes in seldom re-emerges.

Rick,

I couldn't agree more - the transmission flush machine I'm talking about
hooks up to the cooling lines, so you get all the fluid out of the torque
converter, cooler, lines, etc. Does anybody know the maximum fluid capacity
of a TH425, including a cooler and a high capacity pan?
