Transmission Fluid

I watched him change out a transmission mostly by himself on the New Mexico
State Fairgrounds in Albuquerque in about 2001.
He tore one down and put it back together in front of an audience at Pueblo,
CO a few yers ago. btw, he made that trip in his American General Turbo
Diesel powered GMC.
Another story goes, they were on their way to a GMC Rally somewhere and had
a transmission for delivery there in the back of the towd. His trans went
bad on the way. Pulled into a parking lot, he changed out to the spare and
went on their way.

The man is an absolute legend! And a true GMCer and most likable gentleman.

Lots of references to Manny trans and front ends etc.
Simple question, who the hell is he?

He pulled the trans out of The Pig in my crummy gravel driveway. Took him
all of an hour. Truly remarkable

Don’t forget that your service manual is 44 years old. A lot of changes have been made in 44 years. Synthetic oils hold up much better especially at heat.
