How are where are folks mounting an auxillary transmission cooler? I
just finished removing the radiator and repairing a leak caused by the
plastic spikes used to mount the aux cooler onto the radiator core.
Not going to do that again.

Thanks,
Bill

I had a similar problem with my aux cooler. I made some L brakets and
mounted them on the support steel member that holds the battery to back
cable. It is just where you can see down from the front open panels. It
bolted beautifully and works great.

I mounted two pieces of angle aluminum to the front side of the front frame
rail and mounted my cooler to the angle aluminum. Be sure to use some kind
of rubber between the cooler and whatever you mount it too. The rubber
keeps the vibrations from rubbing holes in the tubing. I used rubber hose
cut to fit around the tubes. So far, no problems.

Sounds like a great idea and it aids recycling efforts as well!

I installed mine from brackets that are attached to the bolts that hold the
grill to the front shell. The air that cools the transmission does not go
through the radiator so the radiator will not pick up heat from the
transmission cooler. I am using a double row cooler that is designed for a
heavy vehicle. I would not use a refrigator condensor because of the small
tube size will restrict the flow of oil. I have been told by transmission
people that the best thing that we could do is increase the transmission
cooler line size so more oil could flow to the cooler and back to the
transmission. I do not have a temp gauge on my transmission so I can not
verfy that recomendation.
