I had my factory cruise replaced with an aftermarket unit with a little =
box that sits on the shelf to the left of the drivers seat. It works =
well with resume and accelerate/decelerate features. When this unit was =
installed, it connected a short cable into the transmission and the =
original cable to the transducer was connected to the new cruise.=20

Everything worked fine except my old speedometer cable from the =
transmission was frayed. I ordered a new cable from Cinnebar and =
installed it. Now my speedometer doesn't work at all. My question is =
whether the transducer is necessary for any other reason if it isn't =
needed for the cruise. Can I connect the speedometer cable directly =
from the new cruise unit or does it still need to be routed thru the =
transducer? ( I know I would need a new cable to connect it directly to =
the speedometer). I am hesitant to try this if the transducer has some =
other function.

Bob,
If you have had installed an after market cruise system and it does not
use the OEM transducer (which it probobly would not), the transducer
only serves as a pass through for the upper & lower speedo cables. You
can remove the unit without effecting anything else in the coach. Of
course the green cruise light will not be operational without some
rigging so that is probobly best left off. I do not have a new speedo
cable part # for you, but if you would take out both upper & lower
cables and carry them down to a good parts house, I'm sure someone there
could eyematch a cable with a similar length to sub for the 2 cables.
If you do this, I would appreciate knowing the part # you settled on.
If you have no one in your area you can work with, call me and I will do
the leg work for you. 1-877-275-4462
