Then avg. 225 with some drops to 170 on coast, (think
trips to CA. will still top 250). Asked WesTach what they
thought....maybe
thats where your tranny runs...was there answer.

Ron & Gina,
You're probably ahead of me on this, but...is your external trans
cooler hooked up correctly? In other words, are you taking the output
line from the cooler in the radiator and running it to the external
cooler and then to the transmission? This would effectively heat the
fluid on it's way back to the trans. I believe (help me out here guys
if I'm wrong) the upper line on the trans is the output line to the
cooler. If you follow them forward, they cross so it's easy to hook
them up wrong.
I don't think a whole lot of what thought went behind WesTach's
answer. With my new cooler I don't see above 200 deg. anymore, even on
the dreaded Alpine Grade.

Hi Steve,

Flow.... output line on trans...."T" sender.. to bottom rad. inlet.. out
top.. to bottom external out top.. back to tranny.
Is your sender in trans. output line or pan? What cooler do you have? thanks

Recent posts have been really provocative. Thanks all.

One cautionary note; If you rely on the DigiPanel's alarm (like when the
apprentis driver may not be paying close attention to the guages), be sure
you have the sensor mounted where the juice is the hottest since the
DigiPanel's alarm is calibrated to activate at 300 degrees. If your sensor
is on the return line or in the pan, the alarm would be WAY too late.
