trans park trouble.

Hi All!

Here's a interesting problem... sometimes, when i put the motorhome in
park, it does not go all the way. it seems like everything is out of
adjustment or something.sometimes, if i put it hard into park, it is ok.same
with reverse, if i go past reverse, it will engage. do these cables have a
adjustment?

Not the cable proper, but there is an adjustment on the side of the transmission
where the cable turns a bellcrank, which then attaches to the input lever on
the transmission. This rod is held by a screw, and can be loosened and moved
to adjust the linkage. I had this exact problem, and it appears to be due to
wear in the overall shift mechanism, but can be corrected via this adjustment.

Shawn I had the same problem and it was suggested that I readjust the shift
linkage. It did the trick- thanks for the reply to me. I was glad that it
was not the parking paw.
