Trans. Filter

I was inquiring at a transmission shop as to servicing the transmission.
The owner stated that you wanted to be sure and get the proper filter
with a check-valve in it. (a change-up)
Is anyone aware of this and what is the proper filter number? (or
numbers of other brands)
