Tranny cooling lines

Arch,

If I remember correctly, my 76 Glenbrook (TZE166V100386) had the lines
clamped to the fan shroud in the center of the radiator. It looked like a
factory set up. I replaced the lines because of deep rust pits. I
installed 3/8 inch lines instead of the 5/16 original lines. I was told
that the increase in size would help keep the transmission cooler due to the
increase flow. I clamped the forward most line to the fan shroud and
clamped the aft line to the fwd line AKA standard aircraft practices. It
made the lines very secure and keeps them from rubbing each other or
anything near them. I think you know what I mean by aircraft standard
practices but for any one that doesn't, they could go to the airport and ask
one of the mechanics and he would be able to show them. I would take a
picture and attach it to this message but I do not have a digital camera
yet. Notice I said yet. Maybe Santa will be nice to me this year and leave
one under the tree. Just in case Santa is reading this email message I want
a Sony MCV-FD71. If you need a picture I will try to find a way to scan one
into the computer and attach it to an email. The last time I tried to do
that the picture came out almost the same size as the GMC. Hope this helps.

Regards,

My '78 has the lines attached to the bottom of the cowl about 4 inches from
the radiator frame with a standard rubbercoated loop. I am certain that
this is the factory setup!
